Full 7 Day Itinerary: Morocco Tour from Tangier

Day 1: Tangier – Tetouan – Chefchaouen

Your 7 Day Morocco Tour from Tangier starts in the morning. Your driver will pick you up from your hotel, Tangier port, or Tangier airport.

After meeting your driver, you leave Tangier and drive toward the Rif Mountains. The road is scenic, with green hills, small villages, and mountain views. On the way, you can stop in Tetouan, a nice northern city with Spanish and Moroccan style.

After that, you continue to Chefchaouen, one of the most beautiful towns in Morocco. Chefchaouen is famous for its blue streets, white houses, small doors, and peaceful mountain feeling.

When you arrive, you can walk inside the old medina, take photos, visit the main square, and enjoy mint tea in a local café. Chefchaouen is a calm place and a perfect first stop after Tangier.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

After breakfast, you leave Chefchaouen and drive through the countryside toward Volubilis.

Volubilis is an old Roman site and one of the most important historic places in Morocco. You can walk between old columns, stone streets, and ancient mosaics. It is a good stop for people who like history and culture.

Next, you continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. You can see Bab Mansour gate, the old medina, and the main square. Meknes is smaller and quieter than Fes or Marrakech, but it has a lot of history.

In the afternoon, you drive to Fes, one of the oldest and most famous cities in Morocco. You arrive in the evening and check in to your riad.

Day 3: Full Day to Explore Fes

Today is for visiting Fes, the cultural heart of Morocco. After breakfast, you start exploring the old medina with a local guide.

Fes medina is like a big open-air museum. It has narrow streets, old schools, mosques, markets, leather shops, spice shops, and handmade crafts. It is one of the best places to see real Moroccan life.

You can visit the famous tanneries, where leather is made in the traditional way. You will also see the old Quranic schools, beautiful doors, local bakeries, and many artisan workshops.

Fes is not a city to rush. It is best to walk slowly, look around, and enjoy the atmosphere. Every street has something interesting.

Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, you leave Fes and start the road trip to the Sahara Desert.

Your first stop is Ifrane, a clean mountain town known for its European-style houses and cool weather. It looks very different from other Moroccan cities.

Then you continue to the cedar forest near Azrou, where you may see wild Barbary monkeys. This is a fun stop, especially for families and people who love nature.

After that, you drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains and stop in Midelt for lunch. The road then continues south through changing landscapes. You will see mountains, valleys, dry plains, and small Berber towns.

In the afternoon, you pass through the beautiful Ziz Valley, famous for its long palm groves and desert views.

By evening, you arrive in Merzouga, near the Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, camels will be waiting for you. You ride camels into the Sahara Desert while the sun goes down.

At the desert camp, you enjoy dinner, Berber music, and a peaceful night under the stars.

Day 5: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes. This is one of the most beautiful moments of the whole Tangier to Sahara desert tour.

After breakfast, you ride camels back or take a 4×4 transfer from the camp. Then you leave Merzouga and visit Rissani, an old market town near the desert. It is known for local life, dates, spices, and traditional souks.

Next, you pass through Erfoud, a town famous for fossils and desert products.

After that, the road takes you to Todra Gorge, a high canyon with tall rock walls. You can walk inside the gorge and take photos. The place is very impressive and peaceful.

Later, you continue to Dades Valley, known for its red mountains, old kasbahs, green fields, and strange rock shapes.

Day 6: Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast, you leave Dades Valley and drive through the beautiful road of kasbahs and valleys.

You pass through the Rose Valley, famous for rose products and small Berber villages. Then you continue to Ouarzazate, often called the cinema city of Morocco because many movies were filmed in this area.

The main visit today is Ait Ben Haddou, a famous old kasbah and UNESCO World Heritage site. This mud-brick village is one of the most visited places in Morocco. Many films and TV shows were filmed here.

You can walk through the old streets, cross the river, and climb to the top for a great view.

After lunch, you cross the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka pass. The road has amazing views, small villages, and mountain landscapes.

By late afternoon or evening, you arrive in Marrakech.

Day 7: Marrakech City Tour – End of Tour

After breakfast, you explore Marrakech, one of the most exciting cities in Morocco.

You can visit the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, the colorful souks, and the famous Jemaa el-Fna square. Marrakech is full of life, music, food, shops, and local culture.

You can spend your last day walking in the medina, shopping for souvenirs, drinking mint tea on a rooftop, or relaxing before your flight.
